Last night I went out to dinner with a good friend of mine at a restaurant called South. We sat in the corner with a great view of the dinning room and we couldn’t help eavesdropping on the couple next to us who appeared to be on a first date (hopefully we were at least semi-discreet in our curious ways). Here’s what I thought was interesting: the guy kept bringing up the Myers Briggs test. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to bring up your personality type on a first date, it’s been a few since I’ve had a first date, but I realized how long it had been since I took the Myers Briggs. So, this morning I found out that I’m an ISTJ. Hopefully this knowledge will give me some much needed insight into how I interact with others, and myself. I do think being an ISTJ aligns with my view of myself.

ISTJ – “Trustee”. Decisiveness in practical affairs. Guardian of time- honored institutions. Dependable. 11.6% of total population. Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized – their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.
